Longbarrow Passivhaus

RIBA members and friends from across Gloucestershire, Bristol and Oxon enjoyed an educational, fascinating and exclusive visit to the Long Barrow Passivhaus near Cirencester. Currently under construction, the detached rural home is built from an insulated concrete framework (ICF), which has been used for the floor and shell of the building to provide something that has longevity and will last hundreds of years. At a fascinating stage of the build, selfbuilder Alex Baines and architect Alan Brown of IID Architects allowed full and open access to this inaugural and sold out event for the revitalised RIBA Gloucestershire branch.
